5. Our Privacy Promise
Every feature we introduce must answer one question:
Does this increase understanding without reducing privacy?
If the answer is no, we redesign it.
Privacy is not a checkbox.
It is part of Arclly's product philosophy.
6. Artificial Intelligence & AI Processing
Artificial Intelligence ("AI") is a core component of the Arclly experience.
Unlike traditional journaling applications that simply store entries, Arclly uses AI to help users better understand the story their lives are telling over time.
Our AI is designed to support thoughtful reflection—not replace human judgment.
AI may assist users by:
- organizing journal entries
- identifying recurring themes
- recognizing emotional patterns
- generating summaries
- surfacing related memories
- retrieving supporting evidence from previous reflections
- generating Arclly Opinion
- identifying longitudinal life trends
- organizing MyArc chapters
- assisting with narrative development
- generating personalized prompts
AI-generated content represents interpretations based on the information available at the time and should not be considered objective fact, professional advice, or a definitive assessment of a person's life.
Users remain responsible for decisions made using AI-assisted insights.
7. When AI Processes Your Information
Arclly processes journal content with AI only to provide features requested or enabled by the user.
Examples include:
- Daily Insights
- Weekly Debriefs
- Reflection Summaries
- Arclly Opinion
- Pattern Detection
- Evidence Retrieval
- MyArc Generation
- Voice Narration
- Timeline Intelligence
Except where required by applicable law or necessary to maintain the security and operation of the platform, Arclly does not continuously monitor users' journals or reflections.
AI processing occurs only in connection with providing the requested experience.
8. How AI Uses Your Information
When AI features are enabled, Arclly may temporarily process information including:
- journal entries
- reflections
- voice transcriptions
- uploaded documents
- photographs (where supported)
- goals
- timelines
- previous AI outputs
- MyArc content
This processing enables the AI to understand context across time and produce more meaningful insights.
Where possible, processing is limited to the minimum information necessary to deliver the requested feature.
9. AI Model Training
Arclly understands that users entrust deeply personal information to the platform.
Accordingly:
- Arclly does not use users' private journals, reflections, MyArc content, or voice recordings to train general-purpose AI models without separate, explicit user consent.
- We do not sell journal content to AI providers.
- We do not permit third-party AI providers to use customer content for their own commercial model training where contractual controls are available.
- If Arclly introduces optional research or model improvement programs in the future, participation will always require separate, explicit consent.
10. AI Quality Monitoring
To maintain high-quality AI experiences, Arclly may collect operational information about AI performance, including:
- response latency
- completion success rates
- model reliability
- error rates
- feature usage
- anonymized quality metrics
- user feedback on AI responses
These operational metrics help improve platform performance and reliability but are not intended to build advertising profiles or infer unrelated personal characteristics.
11. Sensitive Personal Information
Some users choose to record highly personal experiences.
Examples include:
- grief
- illness
- emotional wellbeing
- trauma
- relationships
- family conflict
- financial hardship
- identity questions

Arclly processes this information only when voluntarily provided by the user and only to provide requested features or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

12. Self-Harm, Suicide & Emotional Distress
Some reflections may contain language relating to:
- hopelessness

Users should never rely upon Arclly as a crisis intervention or emergency response service.

Arclly treats voice recordings as sensitive personal information.
Depending on the features you enable, Arclly may process:
- voice reflections

- future Voice Continuity experiences
Voice processing requires appropriate consent where applicable.
Users may disable voice features through their account settings.

Family collaboration is always optional.
Users remain in control of:
- who may contribute
- what content may be viewed
- what remains private
- who may comment
- who may edit
- who may receive future access
Contributors own the content they submit unless they choose to transfer or license those rights in accordance with the applicable collaboration terms.
17. Child Account Privacy
Where Arclly offers child or family accounts:
- parents or legal guardians manage the account
- additional privacy protections apply
- only age-appropriate experiences are provided

Arclly is committed to protecting children's privacy and complying with applicable child privacy laws.

Our commitment is simple:

- We minimize before we retain.
- We respect before we infer.
Because your memories are not merely data.
They are part of who you are.
